Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of June 24, 1876

Overview

R. is still severely run down and beset by the abscess, yet he goes on to the orchestra rehearsal anyway. Doepler takes offense at R.’s insistence that too much is still missing, but R. later smooths matters over in his usual gracious way. The day ends socially in the restaurant, and a planned American march rehearsal is abandoned because the players have gone off to Berneck.
