Diary Entry of June 22, 1876
The first piano rehearsal of Siegfried begins well, and Unger earns R.’s approval as the only singer who has really learned from him. Visitors arrive in the form of Countess Usedom and her daughter, adding a social note to the day. In the evening the two of them stay in the restaurant together.
Thursday, June 22:
First Siegfried rehearsal with piano. Herr Unger pleases R. greatly; he says he is the only one who has learned something from him. First birds of passage, Countess Usedom and daughter.
