Overview
The third Walküre rehearsal becomes a source of irritation, with the orchestra struggling to keep proper tempi and Scheffsky nearly impossible. Retreating upstairs, the narrator and R. talk, and the conversation seems to lift his spirits somewhat. Even so, the day is shadowed by frustration and by plans concerning Scheffsky.
