Richard Wagner to Mathilde Wesendonck

Undated · Zurich

Overview

A morning note: Wagner reports that he is getting on pretty well, intends to walk proudly to the rehearsal but will accept the offered carriage if need be, and sends along something he had meant to deliver the day before.

Letter

The best of good-mornings!

Getting on pretty well. — Sincerest thanks for all kindness! — I propose going proudly on foot to the rehearsal. If it must be, however, I accept the carriage for a quarter to 2. You would follow soon after.

I meant to send the accompanying yesterday!

Auf Wiedersehen!
