Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of February 2, 1871

Overview

Cosima begins to sleep again as peace seems more secure, and the family table becomes cheerful and talkative. She answers Schure plainly, writes other letters, and observes Lucerne's anxious reaction to the incoming French soldiers during a sleigh ride. The engraved baton from the Idyll arrives, giving the ordinary day a private musical token.
