Diary Entry of October 12, 1870
Loulou's birthday begins brightly with presents, birds, festive music, and Fidi included as a guest. The children celebrate with a party and tableaux vivants, giving the house a cheerful ceremonial air. Wagner's illness shadows the day, so the evening settles into music with Richter while he attends to biography proofs.
Wednesday, October 12:
Gay start to Loulou’s birthday, birds, frock, etc. The usual festive music box, and this time Fidi as guest. Children’s party, tableaux vivants. Richard unfortunately unwell. In the evening I make music with Richter, while R. looks through the proofs of the biography.
