Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of October 12, 1877

Overview

The birthday of Lusch brought welcome news that Hans was improving, which lifted the mood of the day. Music filled the evening, with R. performing the Coriolan Overture and the Prelude to Parsifal, though professional matters in Munich still seemed uncertain.

Friday, October 12:

Lusch’s birthday; all kinds of things: the gift to me is the news that Hans is feeling better! R. works. Music in the evening: he plays the Coriolan Overture with Lusch, then he plays us the Prelude to Parsifal. (Prof. Hey is making high demands, Munich still being equivocal.)
