Tuesday, June 19:
The last volume of Glasenapp’s biography has appeared, and it touches me deeply. All R. has to say is, “What he has got from other people is not always quite correct, but what he writes himself is sensible and profound.”
Math. Maier visits us. We also make the acquaintance of one of Malwida’s sisters, and R. of the deputy Windthorst, head of the Catholic party, who is supposed to be very witty. Unfortunately we see him between two priests, eagerly reading a newspaper they have brought him, not a pretty sight.
