Overview

Rain kept them wandering through Venice under a duller mood, with a stop at an antique shop and concern for R., whose health was not good in the climate. In the evening they went to a theater production that showed more talent than Wilbrandt’s version, though it felt mannered, and later they visited Palazzo Giustiniani.

Thursday, September 21:

Rainy day. Wandered through the streets of Venice, went into an antique dealer’s. R. not well; the air does not much agree with him.

In the evening to the theater, a new play showing more talent than Herr Wilbrandt’s play of the same name; it is also acted quite well, though the style is very mannered. Visited the Palazzo Giustiniani (see tomorrow).
