Overview

Business matters and travel plans filled the day, with R. intent on taking everything to Italy and letters piling up around them. We also settled on a larger purpose for the coming years: to devote our strength and means to educating children, building a school, and preparing six boys with Fidi, an idea that delighted me deeply.

Thursday, September 7:

Business affairs and travel arrangements. R. wants to go to Italy with bag and baggage. Much correspondence.

R. and I resolve from next fall to devote all our powers, material as well as moral, to the education of the children. To build a school, appoint teachers, educate six boys along with Fidi, etc.; to live for that. Much delight on my part about this.
