Content

Tuesday, July 25:

Dinner with Princess B., Mimi, Count Wallis, who enthusiastically plays the organ in our house, and Wilhelmj. Afterward the second act in public; Herr Siehr very good as Hagen. After the audience has left, second rehearsal.

Afterward Herr Brandt, offended, declares his intention of leaving because he is described in a program by Herr Giessel merely as a machinist! I try to calm him down and to prove to him that R. knew nothing about the whole thing. With difficulty I half succeed!
