Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of January 20, 1875

Overview

R. wakes shaken from a nightmare in which I had abandoned him, fallen ill, and collapsed as he tried to bring me home, the scene crowded with people and anxious confusion. The day continues in that unsettled mood, with talk of Paris opera openings and an evening reception where the district president and his wife pay him great attention before the entry breaks off.
