Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of February 1, 1872

Overview

The day was consumed by household worries, with the chimneysweep causing distress and Loldi still confined to bed though somewhat improved. News from R. arrived by telegram: he had reached Bayreuth safely, secured the site for their house, and was moving through social obligations and practical business. Letters from Judith Mendfes, plus errands into town for the children’s clothes and shoes, made the day feel full but unsettled.
