Richard Wagner to Emil Heckel

November 11, 1872 · Würzburg

Overview

Wagner announces that he and Cosima will come to Mannheim from Frankfort on Friday to hear The Flying Dutchman on Sunday, staying until Monday morning.

Letter

Dear Friend,

After counting all the chances offered me, for whose multiplication I heartily thank you, we think of taking acoustic stock of the "Flying Dutchman" at your place next Sunday. For this we shall arrive on Friday from Frankfort, and stop till Monday morning, so that you may dispose of me for that length of time in all-righteous fashion. In thankful old friendship.

Your faithful

Richard Wagner.

Your tidings please send me at Frankfort, poste- or station-restante.
