Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Mathilde Wesendonck

Undated · Zurich

Overview

An unused musical sketch for Parzival, found in the same envelope as the previous letter, setting the words "Where find I thee, thou holy Grail?", followed by a note to his "dear errant child" saying he was about to write it down when he found her lovely, noble verses.

Letter

Parzival.

Wo find' ich dich, du heil'ger Gral, dich sucht voll Sehnsucht mein Herz.

Dear errant child!

See, I was just about to write this down, when I found thy lovely, noble verses.
