Undated · Zurich

Overview

Wagner reports that Isolde's narration in Act I of Tristan, beginning with the lines about Morold's wound, has come off capitally that day, and promises to play it to Mathilde.

Letter

"Die Morold schlug, die Wunde,

and so on

has come off capitally to-day — I must play it to you by and by!
