Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Mathilde Wesendonck

Undated · Zurich

Overview

Wagner invites Mathilde to join an evening party for which the poet Georg Herwegh and his wife have invited themselves, suggesting it might help her recover from the exertions of her own recent entertaining.

Letter

Friday morning.

The Herweghs have invited themselves for this evening. If you think it would help you to recover from the exertions of your last invitations, it would much delight us if you consented to take part in our entertainment.

Kindest regards.
