Dearest Friend,
Accept from us all the heartiest congratulations on your child's recovery. Your letter reached me while in the company of the ladies, who, as well as myself, at once anticipated that it could only be about your child, as I had already informed them of its severe illness. We shared your cruel anxiety, and now at last felt with you unspeakable joy at the recovery. If anything can increase your joy, may it be the assurance of our sincere sympathy for all that you have lately gone through.
Heartiest greetings to wife and child from your
R. W.
