Overview

Pauline Viardot regrets that no rehearsal is possible that day, since she sings Orphée in the evening, and arranges a meeting at her house next day with Saint-Saëns and Reichardt.

Letter

Luck is decidedly against us. No rehearsal is possible today. I sing Orphée tonight, and at the time Saint-Saëns can come I shall be at table.

We have arranged a meeting at my house tomorrow at a quarter past one for him and Reichardt, if you can be there. Most sincerely

Pauline Viardot
