Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Minna Wagner

July 27, 1855 · St. Moritz

Overview

A hurried early-morning note from St. Moritz asking Minna to send zwieback and other provisions unobtainable there.

Letter

Hurry and send a million Zwiebacks and several Cacoignas.

One can't get anything of the sort here. It's just six o'clock in the morning, the mail coach is about to start. Then I am going to the spring. I arrived yesterday in the finest weather; unusual, beautiful country!

Goodbye, I have to be brief
Your Ri-Ra-Richard
