Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Ernst Benedikt Kietz

December 17, 1851 · Zurich

Overview

A short reproach to Kietz for not writing, with news that Opera and Drama has been ordered for Anders and the Three Opera Poems for Kietz.

Letter

Tell me, dear Kietz, wouldn't it be reasonable, just, and in order, if you were to write me how you are doing? You ought to have answered long since my letter from the Water-Cure Institute.

I sent you greetings through Hermann Müller and ordered a copy of Opera and Drama sent to Anders. Has this been done and did you see Müller?

A copy of the Three Opera Poems is ordered for you; it will be sent to you directly by the bookseller.

Now write! And soon! Do you hear?

Adieu.
Your
R. W.
