Wednesday, September 27:

Gave a fond farewell to our nephews, whom we should so much have liked to keep here, since they are thoroughly good and well-educated young men.

We are somewhat tired; nevertheless I write to Frau Tausig, etc., about Tristan und Isolde. Visit to the old Frau von Schleinitz. To bed early in the evening; R. very absorbed the whole day long.
