Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of October 8, 1880

Overview

Relentless rain darkened the day, and R. joked bitterly that W. and Schemann deserved blame for dragging him back into worries about the Society of Patrons. A brief glow over Saint Mark’s Square accompanied talk of making the Platter public, but the effort exhausted him, and he chose a silent walk home before giving W. a warm farewell that night.
