Overview

The family shared lunch with her father and the Meyendorffs, and the Grand Duke stopped by to praise R. and his work. Later, at her friend’s house, her father played beautifully but seemed worn out.

Thursday, July 26:

Lunch in the Erbprinz, with us my father and Frau v. Meyendorff with her son. The Grand Duke pays us a call and sits down at our table to say many friendly things to R. about Die Meistersinger.

In the evening at Frau v. M.'s, my father plays wonderfully but looks tired.
