Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of July 23, 1877

Overview

The morning included a museum visit to a Dürer portrait that both of them admired. They then traveled on to Weimar, where her father was in good health and spoke warmly of the Crown Prince and Princess.

Content

Monday, July 23:

Went to see Dürer's Hieronymus Holzschuher in the Germanic Museum; the splendid picture pleases R. too.

Departure for Weimar. Arrival at 7 o'clock, found my father very well, thank God. He tells us of his conversation with the Crown Prince and Princess in Potsdam, both of them completely “Wagnerian”!
