Overview

Fidi had to stay in bed, and exhaustion nearly kept the diarist there as well. The only real pleasures were a walk among the palace trees and the companionship of a blackbird whose song seemed to join in with the music they were playing.

Saturday, July 7:

Fidel has to remain in bed all day, I almost do likewise, so tired do I feel. R. continues reading Maxime Ducamp’s book. The chapter on the malfaiteurs interests him very much.

Walk in the palace gardens, delight in the splendid trees; a blackbird which accompanies the García Tadra Overture with its song gives us great enjoyment.
