Saturday, February 24:

Work with the children, afterward a short walk; telegram from Wilhelmj: Mr. Hodge is proposing 20 concerts in England in May! Asks what fee requested for these. We reply that he should state it himself.

Negotiations with Frau Materna, Unger, etc. In the evening R. goes through Mozart symphonies with Herr Seidl; Mozart was a great chromaticist, R. says, but rarely gave expression to his nature; R. is indignant that Seidl does not know the subject thoroughly.
