Tuesday, February 20:

Awoke and went to my work in prayer: Greek history with Boni, French with the little ones. In the evening Thucydides. Nothing from outside except some vilifications for R.!

From Wilhelmj a note saying our success in England would be tremendous; happiness becomes us as little as a king’s mantle a poor leper!
