Wednesday, February 7:

R. is still not well, and I am deeply upset by our friend's death. I dream a great deal about Hans, and recently I clearly heard him playing the piano nearby.

R. is very depressed over the fact that his first report to the patrons concerning the deficit brought no reply, except from old Fräulein Plüddemann in Kolberg, who has sent 100 marks. But he works on the sketch for Parsifal and reports that he has completed the dialogue of the first act.
