Saturday, January 13:

The progress of studies is slightly interrupted by the visit of our friend. In the evening Richard Pohl, too, and on Sunday the 14th Hans v. Wolzogen, with a view toward starting the Bayreuther Blätter.

R. is very tired, however, almost exhausted, since he takes such an incomparable and lively interest in everything. Thus, for instance, Kitchen's deeds and sufferings, which he sees as the whole theme of the play, rise up before us.
