Diary Entry of December 7, 1876
With Baron Liphart, described as both original and agreeable, there was a visit to the Galerie Pitti and the Casa Michelangelo. The bust of Michelangelo was deeply moving, while the afternoon stayed indoors because of mild but wet weather and brought visitors such as Prof. Hillebrand; the day ended with letter writing.
Thursday, December 7:
With Baron Liphart, whom I find original and very pleasant, visited the Galerie Pitti and the Casa Michelangelo, where the bust of the great man moves me very much.
Very mild but wet weather; we stay at home in the afternoon and receive visitors, among them Prof. Hillebrand, very pleasant. Wrote letters in the evening.
