R. indisposed - headache, gum boil; he applies leeches and insists afterward on driving to rehearsal. (He also, in the middle of a raging toothache, writes to the King.) After rehearsal, very unwell. First act of Walküre; Niemann, Scheffsky, Filers - R. again drilled them in everything, every movement, every single word.
