Diary Entry of June 5, 1876
A second artists’ dinner at our house is cheerful, with Betz, Wilhelmj, and others enlivening the gathering. After inspecting Grane, we return to the Rheingold rehearsal, where the first scene with orchestra and singers feels almost unbelievable in its reality, especially with the children present.
Monday, June 5:
Second dinner for the artists in our house, Betz, Wilhelmj, etc., cheerful atmosphere. Inspection of the horse Grane.
Then Das Rheingold rehearsal, first scene with orchestra and singers. The children with us, incredible that such things are possible!
