Departure of Dr. Schonaich! Friend Richter takes his place, bringing no good news from Vienna. Dinner with him and Prof. Bernays; also together in the evening.
Yesterday we made lovely music, Tristan and Die Meistersinger; today that absurdity, [Rossini’s] Otello.
