Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of April 1, 1876

Overview

Isolde remained unwell, and that kept the household melancholy, though there was still hope it was nothing serious. An unpleasant letter from Herr Unger added irritation, since he spoke of family obligations and an audition before the King instead of coming in person. Feustel’s speech to the citizens’ club at least showed public support and reminded everyone of the duties ahead during the important performances.
