Monday, February 21:

I am busy with plans for R.’s birthday, besides my lessons. R. is very vexed by a telegram from Jauner, saying that one half of the proceeds plus the daily expenses are to go to the theater, so that only about 2,000 florins will be left for the chorus from the performance of Lohengrin.

In the evening conference about apartments, also cloakroom arrangements, etc. Everything here in blissful calm!! ... Only Herr Brandt deeply worried, and ourselves.
