Overview

R. admitted that if the trip to Berlin were not so near, he would have started work on Parsifal instead. He met with the management committee and told them they were all playing a gamble, though they still kept their confidence. The night, as usual, closed with Don Quixote.

Saturday, February 5:

R. says that if our journey to Berlin were not impending, he would start work on Parsifal. But unfortunately we shall have to make this excursion. R. has a conference with his management committee, and it does not upset him; he tells them they are engaged in a complete game of chance, but the good people are not losing their confidence.
