Diary Entry of July 11, 1875
An early church visit with the two older girls set the tone for a busy Sunday, after which the writer noted that Das Rheingold was being rehearsed thoroughly and well. The afternoon brought calls with Lusch, and the evening gathered strangers and Bayreuth people for music and cheerful company.
Sunday, July 11:
Up very early, to church with the two big girls; before that wrote in my diary. The whole of Das Rheingold is being rehearsed, it is going very well.
In the afternoon paid some calls with Lusch. In the evening many strangers and Bayreuth people; music is played, and everyone looks in good spirits.
