Cosima's Diaries

Diary Entry of May 26, 1875

Overview

R. spent the morning absorbed in the general staff report, while the diarist handled the children’s lessons and answered letters. A kind note arrived from the King, yet worries about lodging, money, and the missing Siegfried weighed heavily, and the evening with their small circle of musicians offered only brief relief.

Content

Wednesday, May 26:

In the morning R. is still reading the report of the General Staff, with great enjoyment. I write to the children and give the little ones their lessons.

Nice letter to R. from the King; otherwise, many worries: accommodation problem, money problem, Siegfried problem. One feels very discouraged.

In the evening our little troop of musicians.
