Diary Entry of May 23, 1875
R. was not overly exhausted, and the visiting Ritters stayed on while the family enjoyed good weather and a relaxed atmosphere. The evening brought machinist Brandt for technical discussion of the rainbow bridge in Das Rheingold, after which R. happily turned to several pieces from Fa Vestale.
Sunday, May 23:
R. not too tired, the Ritters are staying with us, fine weather, in the evening the machinist Brandt, much to be discussed, among other things the rainbow bridge in Das Rheingold. Afterward R. goes through several pieces from La Vestale with great enjoyment.
