Diary Entry of March 7, 1875
After a miserable night disturbed by a hotel ball, we accepted Richter’s hospitality for the brief stay and moved into his mother-in-law’s empty home on Wai2nerstrasse. A rehearsal of Die Glocken von Strasshurg in the afternoon was deeply unsatisfactory, but the evening improved with dinner at the Richters and a small gathering that felt warm and agreeable.
Sunday, March 7:
Bad night, a ball in the hotel, we decide to accept Richter’s hospitality for this short time. We are living at Währingerstrasse 1, in the home of his mother-in-law, who is away.
In the afternoon a rehearsal of Die Glocken von Straßburg in the theater, very unsatisfactory. In the evening dinner with the Richters and afterward a small party, all very pleasant.
