Overview

Sunday, January 3:

R. is much tormented by the eczema on his fingers. A very nice letter from Dr. Standhartner, asking us to stay with him and his family. R. is in a bad mood, longing for productivity. I come upon him at noon already thinking about his overture.

I stay at home while he goes out, I, troubled by toothache since New Year's Day. Some visitors in the evening; Beethoven's F Minor Sonata, and again some of the Variations.
