Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Carl Brandt

November 22, 1874 · Bayreuth

Overview

Wagner presses Brandt again for the Darmstadt orchestra information he needs to form his orchestra provisionally, and announces that he finished his score of Götterdämmerung the day before and will now devote himself entirely to business.

Letter

Dear Herr Brandt!

Can you not at last see that my wish in regard to the orchestra affair is looked after by the suitable person in the Darmstadt Orchestra??? I only need this information in order to form my orchestra temporarily, whereupon I can only then take the official steps.

Yesterday I finished my score, and shall devote myself now entirely to business.

Cordial greetings from

Yours very faithfully,

Richard Wagner.
