September 9, 1881 · Dresden

Overview

On a visit to Dresden three years after Anton's death, Wagner proposes to call on his widow with Eva and Siegfried at about one o'clock for a simple "second breakfast."

Letter

Dear Beloved Friend!

If it is suitable to you, then we shall come to you — with Eva and Siegfried — today at about 1 o'clock, to have a simple "second breakfast" — a small luncheon.

Will that be all right, then?
