Overview

Concluding from Pusinelli's letter that his presence in Dresden is now superfluous, Wagner wires that he will travel directly to Berlin and asks for a later, better-prepared visit in early February.

Letter

From your letter I perceive for the first time that my presence in Dresden is superfluous now. Since time and effort are costly to me, I beg, in accordance with your own suggestions, a later sojourn that will serve the purpose and be prepared, necessarily for the beginning of February. Accordingly I am travelling directly to Berlin this time. We shall then correspond further about it.
