Overview

Receiving news of Minna's death in Marseilles, too far away to help in person, Wagner wires Pusinelli to represent him in all arrangements and to give his painful feelings full expression.

Letter

Your telegram, the date of which is unknown to me, I have received this evening here, where I have been detained by indisposition, and after all am too far away to help personally in the sad affair. I therefore ask you, as my noble loyal friend, to represent me in all matters involved. I am writing you and will expect a letter from you in Geneva, where I shall have returned by Tuesday. Kindly give my painful feelings full expression in all arrangements.
