Wesendonck! You are a unique man! Immediately after writing you last I suddenly grew cheerful and at ease — for the first time since this ghastly crisis. I seemed to be safe at once! So that yesterday (even before a word from you) I was able to work again; the first time for months!
Let me keep the Walküre a little longer: I am now entirely alone again, and need that sort of company at times!
You shall very soon have news, and something else from me!
Heartiest greetings to the wife, and sincerest thanks to yourself!
Your
R. W.
