Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to Felix Mendelssohn

January 10, 1844 · Berlin

Overview

A brief note thanking Mendelssohn for his goodwill, which Wagner calls the most welcome gain of his whole expedition to Berlin.

Letter

My dear, dear Mendelssohn,

It gave me great pleasure to learn how well-disposed you are towards me. If I have come a little closer to you in the process, then that is the most welcome gain of my entire expedition to Berlin.

Fare you well!

Yours,
Richard Wagner.
