Wagner's Letters

Richard Wagner to E. W. Fritzsch

January 5, 1877 · Bayreuth

Overview

Wagner asks his publisher Fritzsch for six more copies of On the Destiny of Opera, promising a new article recommending a distinguished musician.

Letter

Dearest Mr. Fritzsch:

Make me a present of another half-dozen of the single pamphlet The Purpose of Opera. In return you'll get a new article shortly, containing the photograph of a distinguished musician whom I want to recommend to the German musical world.

With kind regards, faithfully yours,
Richard Wagner

I've a wonderful story for Tappert to be used by him. I should appreciate seeing him. He could put up in my home.
