Richard Wagner to Franz and Anna Mrazek

Undated · Lucerne

Overview

Wagner asks Franz Mrazek to collect a trunk of things he has bought in Paris for Cosima von Bülow and deliver it to her, and is glad Cosima has found the couple a position.

Letter

Dear Franz and dear Anna!

I send you my best regards and am glad that the perseverance of the Frau Baronin will help you to a job after all! Soon I hope to see you again.

For today I have a request for Franz. A trunk full of things which I bought in Paris on behalf of the Frau Baronin will shortly arrive at the address of Frau Anna Mrazek in Munich. Here are the keys for it. Let Franz arrange it all nicely and deliver the trunk to the Frau Baronin. Franz might try to get the money for the expenses, freight and customs duty. I am sorry that the allowance is already here. If Franz has not enough money he should borrow it from Herr Mathieu until the 1st of next month.

Well then, children! Get it well done! And keep fond of me. For Christmas I'll give you presents!

Kindest regards, also for your children!

Cordially,
your friend
Richard Wagner

I hope that when I come to Munich Anna will be able to serve me.
